August 17-December 21, 2024

The life of an exhibition starts long before the public experiences it, with years of research and preparatory efforts among curators, collections managers, textile conservators and exhibition production staff. During the fall of 2024, visitors were invited behind the scenes as the museum’s staff prepared for major exhibitions celebrating The Textile Museum’s centennial in 2025, with museum docents and gallery attendants on hand to answer questions.

Watch the video below to learn about the process of creating exhibitions from start to finish — from custom conservation treatments to the construction of display boards and cases to the installation of artworks in the galleries.
