Performance: "Ars Poetica" by counter)induction and Marlanda Dekine
Join us in the galleries for a special performance of “Ars Poetica,” a muso-poetic collaborative project between composer Douglas Boyce and poet Marlanda Dekine, performed by counter)induction and Dekine. In the work, complex sound textures envelop the poet and their words, resonating with the images and moods of the poems, and shifting from gentle moments of reflection to violent savagery to spiritual considerations. After the performance, GW student poets will join in a celebration of these distinct but entwined artistic domains.
The event will take place in the third-floor galleries, amid Anne Lindberg’s site-specific installation what color is divine light?
This event is co-sponsored by the GW Creative Writing Program and the Jenny McKean Moore Reading Series.
