Open House: Transportation in Washington

Join us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for special access to the Albert H. Small Center for National Capital Area Studies, where you can see artifacts related to D.C.’s transportation history. The program will begin with a tour of From A to DC: Transportation in Washington, an exhibition that explores how locals and visitors have traversed the District over the centuries.
 

About the Exhibition

Traverse the nation’s capital by air, land or sea in From A to DC: Transportation in Washington, an exhibition exploring the history of Washington’s transportation systems. Artworks from the Albert H. Small Washingtoniana Collection depict innovations in travel that transformed the District during the 19th and 20th centuries.  Learn more about the exhibition 
 

About the Center

The Albert H. Small Center for National Capital Area Studies houses a research collection of maps, illustrative prints, newspapers and ephemera relating to Washington, D.C., history, as well as a non-circulating library. The center is open by appointment. Learn more about the center

How to Participate 

This program will take place in person at the museum. To join the tour, please meet in the lobby at 11 a.m. Space is limited, so please register in advance.  All are welcome to stop by the open house in the Albert H. Small Center for National Capital Area Studies from 12-1 p.m.
