Exhibition Program: The Declaration’s Journey
Join Matthew Skic, director of collections and exhibitions at the Museum of the American Revolution, to explore the Declaration of Independence’s journey to, and far beyond, the nation’s capital. This program will introduce stories from The Declaration’s Journey, an exhibition on view in Philadelphia through January 3, 2027.
About Matthew Skic
Matthew Skic is the director of collections and exhibitions at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia. He joined the team at the museum in 2016 after graduating from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture at the University of Delaware. Since then, he has curated multiple award-winning exhibitions. He most recently served as project director for The Declaration’s Journey, a special exhibition about the 250-year global impact of the Declaration of Independence.
About the Exhibition
In Revolutionary Echoes in Washington, a selection of rare letters, maps and illustrations reveal how the ideas of the Declaration of Independence resonated in America’s young capital city during its first century. Visitors to this exhibition can share personal visions for the future by contributing to the nationwide Wish Wall project celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States. This program is free and will take place online. To participate, please register in advance to reserve your space. Once you have registered, we will email you a link and details for joining on Zoom.
