Join conservation research fellow Callista Jerman for a behind-the-scenes look at textile research happening on the museum’s collections. Drawing on her fellowship work with Anatolian kilims, Uzbek ikats and Bolivian weavings, Jerman will highlight a range of analytical methods used to uncover new insights into how these textiles were made.

This program is part of The Textile Museum's centennial celebrations in 2025.

About Callista Jerman
Callista Jerman is the inaugural conservation research fellow at The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum. She holds an M.Phil. in textile conservation from the University of Glasgow and has conducted research at UC Berkeley, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon and Lubrizol. At the museum, her work focuses on surveying and analyzing large textile collections from Türkiye, Uzbekistan and Bolivia to gain deeper insight into how these textiles were made and the people who created them.
