Workshop: Learn to Sketch Textiles

Laurel Ganem and Shelby Thrasher, MFA '18, Interior Architecture, Corcoran School of the Arts & Design

Graduate students from the GW Interior Architecture program will lead a workshop focused on sketching artworks in the exhibition Vanishing Traditions: Textiles and Treasures from Southwest China. The workshop will begin with an introduction to on-site sketching and the tools and methods used. After this orientation, visitors will head to the galleries to sketch highly embellished festival costumes, jewelry, and accessories from minority cultures in Southwest China.

This program is part of the museum's weekly Textiles at Twelve series, which explores the textile arts and global cultures through films, lectures, gallery talks, and more. Free, but reservations are required. Register online.
