Lecture: "The Monument Quilt" Blankets the National Mall

Hannah Brancato and Shanti Flagg, artists

Brancato and Flagg will talk about the artist/activist collective FORCE: Upsetting Rape Culture and their work creating public art projects to foster difficult and honest conversations around the realities of sexual and domestic violence. After forty-seven displays across the U.S. and in Mexico, FORCE is bringing over 3,000 stories from survivors in the form of The Monument Quilt for a culminating display and survivor convening on the National Mall in spring 2019.

This program is part of the museum's weekly Textiles at Twelve series, which explores textile arts and global cultures through films, lectures, gallery talks, and more. Free, no reservations required.
