Trip: A Textile Day at the Met

Lee Talbot, curator, and experts from the Met

Join us for an exciting day at the Met. Start out with a curator-led tour of the exhibition From the Imperial Theater: Chinese Opera Costumes from the 18th and 19th Centuries, then enjoy a special presentation of six newly acquired Iranian carpets. The group will then visit the Antonio Ratti Textile Center, not open to the public, for a behind-the scenes tour. Finally, Lee Talbot, curator of The Textile Museum collections, will offer an introduction to the exhibition Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garcons: Art of the In Between before welcoming the group to explore on its own. Organized by the New Horizons Committee, a volunteer group dedicated to expanding the community of museum members and supporters.

Fee: $120/museum members and GW students, faculty, and staff; $150/public (includes a three-course prix-fixe lunch at the Metropolitan’s Petrie Court). Advance registration is required; space is limited. Register online or call 202-994-7394.
