Book Talk: "Lipstick Brigade"

Cindy Gueli, author

You’ve heard of Rosie the Riveter, but do you know about Washington’s Government Girls? Almost a quarter of a million adventurous young women swarmed the nation’s capital to help America fight World War II. Cindy Gueli will discuss the captivating, surprising, and moving first-person stories she collected for Lipstick Brigade, her book about how these incredible women triumphed over the challenges of war and the chaotic, frustrating, and often deadly capital boomtown.
