Celebrate Japanese fashion during cherry blossom season this spring! Join us at the museum for a family day featuring kimono, happi coats, accessories, and the creative shapes of contemporary Japanese fashion designs. Enjoy dance performances of Eisaa and Ryubu traditional dances from Okinawa. You can also watch a demonstration on how to dress in a kimono, design your own kimono, and make a cherry blossom pendant.
Family-friendly tours of Japanese artworks on display in Delight in Discovery: The Global Collections of Lloyd Cotsen will also be offered.
This program is a collaboration with Okinawa Kai of Washington, D.C.
