About the Film

From the segregated American South to the fashion capitals of the world, operatic fashion editor André Leon Talley's life and career are on full display, in a poignant portrait of one of the truly unique figures of 20th century American culture. Weaving together a wealth of archival footage from the most glamorous moments in fashion history The Gospel According to André provides insight into André's life and career, whose barrier-breaking work at publications like Women’s Wear Daily, W and Vogue left an indelible impact on the industry. (Magnolia Films, 2018, 94 minutes.)
