Artist Talk: Dave Cole
Contemporary Art and the Vocabulary of Textiles
New York artist Dave Cole is known for his large-scale, genre-bending work at the intersection of sculpture, installation, and performance. Through textiles, advanced industrial materials, and other media, Cole creates sculptures with historical relevance, conceptual sophistication, and subtle humor. His work has been exhibited internationally and is in public and private collections worldwide. In this lecture, Cole will discuss the role of textiles in his own work, in material culture, and in contemporary fine art.
Please join us at 6 p.m. in the lobby for light refreshments, wine, and a chance to meet the artist. The talk will begin at 6:30 p.m.
