Art Care for Artists

Fridays from 11 AM–3 PM

Fiber artists face unique challenges as their body of work grows, ages, and travels to different venues. These three workshops are designed for working artists who want to photograph, protect, and keep track of their artwork.

Fee: $75 per session for museum members (or $200 for the three-program package); $100 per session for the public. Registration includes most materials and a box lunch.

Photographing Your Art

Cataloging Your Art

Friday, October 12, 2018 - 11:00am to 3:00pm

Learn how to catalog art objects according to VRA Core, a data standard hosted by the Library of Congress, with Curator of Contemporary Art Camille Ann Brewer.

Storing Your Art

Friday, November 9, 2018 - 11:00am to 3:00pm

Museum conservators will provide information on how a variety of flat and dimensional textiles from The Textile Museum's collections are stored, to inform participants on how best to store their own work.
