Lecture: Change and Tradition in Soviet Central Asia

Join Andrew Hale, an expert in the nomadic textiles and silk weaving traditions of Central Asia, for a discussion on the influence of revolutionary Russia on the textile and other traditions in Central Asia. During this talk, Hale will pull from his personal archive of over two thousand photographs documenting Central Asia in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
