Assistant Curator, Albert H. Small Washingtoniana Collection
Amber "Jackie" Streker began working with the museum’s Albert H. Small Washingtoniana Collection in 2017 and assumed the position of assistant curator in 2018.
Streker curates exhibitions on American history with a focus on Washington, D.C. Her exhibitions include Best Laid Plans: Designs for a Capital City; Songs of the Civil War; and Treasures from the Albert H. Small Collection. She also organizes the George Washington University’s annual Albert H. Small Washingtoniana Symposium.
She holds a bachelor’s in art history from the University of Maine, and a master’s degree in art history from GW.
